Barcelona are considering making a move for Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey in the summer.
The 31 year old is out of contract at the end of the season, and will become a free agent after that. There has been speculation that the Gunners will offer him a new deal, but his age profile suggests it would only be a short-term contract, and there are also question marks about his injury record, although this has been his best season, in terms of availability, since moving to the Emirates.
With the club continuing to be heavily linked with a move for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubímendi as well, Partey’s long-term future as a first-team player could also be in doubt.
Juventus are also keeping close tabs on his situation, and could be ready to offer him a longer-term deal.
Partey has yet to make up his mind as to what he wants to do, although given his age, the slower pace of either the Spanish or Italian leagues might tempt him.
