AJ Tracey personally phoned talkSPORT after Darren Bent claimed Mohamed Salah has been better in the Premier League than Cristiano Ronaldo.

The rapper couldn’t believe what he was hearing on Monday’s edition of Drive from the former England striker, although Bent did appear to get Tracey round to his way of thinking by the end of the exchange.

The rapper disagreed with Bent’s Salah and Ronaldo comments[/caption]

Bent’s claim came after Salah scored his 25th Premier League goal of the season on Sunday.

He also grabbed an assist in Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Manchester City to move to 41 goal contributions in the league this term.

Liverpool’s win at the Etihad Stadium also saw Salah break a number of other records, while also equalling a very impressive one from the great Lionel Messi.

However, Tracey was quick to shut down the suggestion that the Egyptian has surpassed Manchester United legend Ronaldo.

Turning his attention to the talkSPORT co-host’s comments, the musician fumed: “One more thing I just want to squeeze in there, don’t you ever dare say that Mohamed Salah is better than CR7. Don’t you ever, ever.”

However, Bent quickly clarified he had only been talking in terms of the pair’s Premier League careers.

The ex-forward replied: “In terms of the Premier League era, I’m saying Salah has been better. Not ever.”

Tracey continued his argument, though, explaining: “Alright, Premier League era, you could say that, yeah? But not ever.

“But this is the thing, though, yeah? When we take a snapshot of time, it’s a little bit inaccurate.

“Because, you know, if you want to say, is (Eden) Hazard a better player than Salah, a lot of people are going to argue with you and say Hazard’s better.

Salah’s record-breaking season continued with a goal and assist on Sunday[/caption]

“Personally, I would say Hazard’s a more gifted player. Salah’s done more, you know, in the Premier League.

“So we’re going to have to say, you know, in the Premier League era, yeah, you’d say Salah’s a better player, but just as a footballer, and acknowledging with the eye test, because you know, today’s all about stats.

“It’s not all about stats. And with the eye test, you’re going to say, you know, objectively, I’d say Hazard’s a better player. CR7, I would say is a better footballer than Salah, but Salah’s done more in the Premier League. If we’re going to land there, I can agree with you.”

Bent agreed, adding: “Yeah, no argument there, but CR7 is one of the greatest of all time.

“But if you look at what Salah’s doing in the Premier League, if you could have one in the Premier League era at Tottenham, which one do you have?”

Spurs fan Tracey simply responded: “On my life, I promise you, on my life, I’m taking CR7, bro. I was at Spurs when CR7 was absolutely battering us.”

Ronaldo won three Premier League titles and a Golden Boot during his first spell in England with Manchester United.

The Portuguese ultimately scored 103 goals in 236 league appearances for the Red Devils over the course of two stints at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Salah now has 182 strikes in 290 Premier League appearances, with two of those goals coming in his 13 league matches for Chelsea.

The Reds forward is also a three-time Golden Boot winner across his previous seven seasons at Anfield.

He currently leads the race for this season’s award by six goals ahead of Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland.

Salah is set to clinch a second league title as well, with Liverpool now 11 points clear at the top of the table.

However, nearest challengers Arsenal do have a game in hand on their title rivals.

Is that the title race done?
