Liverpool are aiming to beat Arsenal to the signature of Norwegian teenager Sverre Nypan.
The teenager was being touted around among Premier League clubs during the January window, and his representatives had talks with both the Gunners and Manchester City. However, in the end, he chose to stay with his current club Rosenborg until the end of the season.
The 18 year old has already played more than 60 league games for them, but the midfielder, advised by his father, decided to take a little more time to decide on his next move.
According to his father, whichever club he joins next should make him part of a long-term project, and a generational change, in a squad that is willing to give young players an opportunity early.
It has also been made clear that, although the summer transfer window does not open until January 1st, they will not be waiting that long to make a final decision.
