Arsenal want to sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich on a free transfer in the summer.
The 30-year old will be out of contract at the end of the season, and is now free to talk to clubs outside Germany over a potential move. Discussions over a new deal for the German international at the Allianz Arena are continuing but he is also exploring his options.
This is not the first time he has been linked with a move to the Emirates. Similar speculation was rife this time last year, but in the end he remained in Munich.
Arsenal are set to overhaul their midfield this summer, with both Jorginho and Thomas Partey, who are both out of contract, expected to leave the club, whilst a deal to sign Martin Zubímndi from Real Sociedad is reported to be close to completion.
Although Kimmich principally plays in central midfield, he can also operate with almost equal proficiency as a right back.
