Exclusive: After Denner deal Chelsea are now targeting another Brazilian who’s already compared to Neymar

TBR Football can reveal that Chelsea are still attempting to secure the signature of Gremio attacking midfielder Gabriel Mec.

The Blues held talks last summer but Mec agreed a deal to stay at Gremio, but lines of communication have remained open about the 16-year-old – who is already playing first-team football.

The youngster has already worked his way into the Brazilian club’s first-team set up this season, although so far, he has only played twice for Gremio.

The midfielder’s performances at youth level have been what has caught the eye of the Blues who are very keen to secure his signature.

Chelsea view Gabriel Mec as a ‘must-get’ talent

Chelsea are now pushing hard to get a deal in place for Gabriel Mec that would see him move to Stamford Bridge in 2026, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Chelsea already have Estevao Willian arriving this summer, but TBR Football have been told that the West London club see Mec as the next ‘must-get’ young South American.

Enzo Maresca’s side could face competition for his signature as TBR Football understands that Barcelona are hugely keen on Mec, who’s been compared to Neymar, and have also spoken to the player.

The talented teenager is in no hurry to move, but a deal is expected to be set up well in advance of when he turns 18.

Chelsea agree deal to sign Denner Evangelista from Corinthians

Sources have confirmed to TBR Football that Chelsea have agreed terms with Corinthians for full-back Denner Evangelista – who will arrive in 2026.

Chelsea have agreed terms on a deal worth £8.2m plus £3.3m in add-ons for the 17-year-old left-back.

TBR Football has been told that Corinthians were represented in London this week and talks were tied up with Chelsea.

Evangelista is the latest South American capture by BlueCo who are not finished with this market.
