TBR Football understands that Liverpool were represented at Ajax this weekend as they watched long-term target Jorrel Hato in action, but he was not the only young talent they had eyes on.
Ajax recorded a 2-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles and Jorrel Hato featured at left-back where he has featured in every game this season, despite also having the ability to play centrally.
Jurgen Klopp wanted Hato when he was at Liverpool with the Reds having been tracking the defender for quite some time.
Sources have also confirmed to TBR Football that whilst Hato, who is valued at £40m, remains of interest, the Merseyside club were also doing work on two other players at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Liverpool send scouts to Ajax to watch Jorrel Hato, Anton Gaaei and Mika Godts
Sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that Liverpool were also watching Anton Gaaei and Mika Godts, along with Hato.
Godts is a player that Liverpool have known about for a long time with the Belgian teenager having joined Ajax in January 2023 aged just 17.
The Reds, along with a number of Premier League clubs, were aware of him – having often been compared to Eden Hazard.
Danish right-back Gaaei is understood to have emerged on Liverpool’s radar during their recent trips to this season to watch Ajax.
Gaaei, 22, has made the breakthrough with Ajax this season and has four assists from 12 starts – including one in the win over Go Ahead.

Hato is on Liverpool’s list of targets alongside Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth as Arne Slot assesses potential replacement for Andrew Robertson.
The Dutch defender produced a solid display on the left-hand side for the hosts, who managed to keep a clean sheet.
