Tottenham Hotspur supporters are certain that the North London club have already found the ideal replacement for Yves Bissouma.
Bissouma’s future at Tottenham is in doubt with Ange Postecoglou reportedly ready to sell the midfielder in the summer.
On several occasions this season, Bissouma’s performances have been questioned and it’s becoming increasingly clear that Spurs need to find a replacement for him.
The Lilywhites potentially have a new midfielder incoming next term and this player has very recently produced a stellar display against Real Madrid.
Tottenham fans rave about Johnny Cardoso vs Real Madrid
Tottenham Hotspur fans have been raving about the performance of Johnny Cardoso after the midfielder really impressed against Real Madrid.
Real Betis secured a shock 2-1 win over Los Blancos with the US international also getting on the scoresheet as he headed home from a corner.
Tottenham have a £21m option on Cardoso for next summer having agreed the deal when selling Giovani Lo Celso back to the Spanish club.
Spurs supporters are now keen for the 23-year-old to be the long-term successor to Bissouma and have taken to X to share their thoughts.
One supporter claimed: “They surely activate the Cardoso option, he’s had a great season for £20m and could rotate in the number six with Gray. Could probably sell 2 of Bentancur, Sarr and Bissouma.”
“If Spurs exercise their option to buy Johnny Cardoso a Bergvall and Johnny could be a dynamite midfield pairing,” added another fan.
There was yet more praise for Cardoso: “Johnny Cardoso is everything we need in a defensive midfielder, he sits in front of his back two to help them defend, technically brilliant and a tempo setter.”
After the win over Madrid, a Betis supporter claimed: “He destroyed the midfield of Atletico Madrid and now Real Madrid’s, Johnny Cardoso is one of the best midfielders in Europe. It’s a shame that Tottenham will probably exercise their purchase option this summer.”

The Betis midfielder was superb in the number six role as he caused Madrid plenty of issues at both ends of the pitch.
