TBR Football understands that Liverpool have not progressed with their talks for Joshua Kimmich are now unlikely to make an offer to the German superstar.

Kimmich is free to talk to clubs as he has not agreed fresh terms with Bayern Munich – whose supervisory board withdrew their contract offer for the 30-year-old last month.

Bayern are still very much an option to keep Kimmich, whose been dubbed ‘world class’, and talks are due again, but other clubs have been reaching out to him, as TBR Football revealed.

Arne Slot’s team were one of his options, however, one of the midfielder’s key demands saw the Reds pull out of talks over a potential deal.

Liverpool put off by Joshua Kimmich’s wage demands

Liverpool have been put off by Joshua Kimmich’s wage demands which are beyond where the Merseyside club would be willing to go, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Arsenal have held talks and have not yet been put off, whilst Manchester City are keeping abreast of developments where his former boss Pep Guardiola is keen on a reunion.

La Liga giants FC Barcelona have an interest with former Bayern manager Hansi Flick keen to bring him to Catalonia.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan are also engaged in talks with the player’s entourage as they decide whether to leave Germany or not.

Would Joshua Kimmich be a good signing for Arsenal?

Arsenal look set to fall just short in the Premier League title race for the third consecutive season and it’s clear they need help getting over the line.

Bringing in a player with the experience of Kimmich who has 20 major club honours to his name could add so much to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

The 30-year-old remains a key player for Bayern having featured 36 times for the Bavarians this season.

The Gunners would surely be able to offer the German international an exciting package and should be fighting tooth and nail to land him on a free transfer.
