According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Pep Guardiola has asked Manchester City to go after Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise. The Spanish manager want to bring the attacker as he looks to build his squad for next season.

Michael Olise joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024 from Crystal Palace. Since then, he has been a force to reckon with. He has proved himself as one of the most exciting attackers in the world and has been a great servant for the club.

Olise is having an impactful campaign so far where he has already netted 13 goals and provided 12 assists in 36 games. He is averaging 2.4 shots, 1.9 key passes, and 2 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).

The German attacker is versatile enough to play at different roles in the attacking positions. He has got a great passing and dribbling abilities apart from his extraordinary vision. He can create chances for his side as well as provide the finishing touches.

Michael Olise will cost a high number

Manchester City wanted to sign Michael Olise before he moved to Bayern Munich. However, the player decided to try himself in the Bundesliga. With the English outfit returning with their interest, it remains to be seen if the attacker will entertain a move or not.

Olise’s high qualities and versatility in the final third will be well appreciated by Pep Guardiola. Moreover, the 23-year-old can be a great long-term acquisition for the team.

Olise’s current contract at Bayern Munich runs until 2029, which means Manchester City will have to offer a lucrative value on the table to convince the German side. Moreover, it will be interesting to see if the Citizens will prioritize brining a backup for Erling Haaland in the summer or not.
