Premier League club decide to sack their manager and a date has been set no matter what happens

A Premier League club has reportedly decided to sack their manager just two months before the end of the season, and they’ve already lined up the perfect replacement.

The 2024/25 Premier League season has been a particularly difficult for many teams in the English top division, leading to the dismissal of six managers throughout the campaign.

After a dismal start to the season, former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was the first Premier League manager to lose his job this season in October, with Sean Dyche’s departure from Everton in January the most recent.

But one club may look to take Everton’s place as the most recent club to part ways with their manager, as they have reportedly already decided that they will make a change in the dugout at the end of the season.

As it stands, Southhampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town are on track to finish as the worst bottom three teams in Premier League history having all earned promotion from the Championship last season.

Although Ipswich have stood by Kieran McKenna, both Leicester and Southampton have sacked a manager during this season, bringing in Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ivan Juric respectively.

And it appears that Southampton may be set to make yet another change in the dugout, with a report from The Sun claiming that they have decided to part ways with Juric not even three months after appointing him.

Juric was brought in as the replacement for former Southampton boss Russell Martin on December 15, signing an 18-month contract with his new club.

However, the Croatian manager has struggled in his first job in the Premier League, with Southampton winning just once of their 10 Premier League matches since Juric was appointed as manager – a 2-1 victory over Ipswich last month.

Therefore, Southampton are believed to have decided to sack the 49-year-old at the end of the season, regardless of how Southampton performs in their remaining games, and they have reportedly already decided that current Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is their ideal replacement.

Rohl was reportedly the ideal target for Southampton when they sacked Martin in November, but the deal fell through over Wednesday’s compensation demands after their strong start to the season.

But, with Wednesday currently sitting seven points away from the play-offs in 13th, then they are more likely to allow the German to leave at the end of the season.
