There have been widespread reports that Liverpool is stepping up its efforts to sign Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.
The Hungarian, who is close friends with Dominik Szoboszlai, has enjoyed a superb season for the Cherries and has established himself as one of the game’s most promising left-backs. That comes at a time when Andy Robertson has endured a tough campaign for Liverpool, with Jamie Carragher among those who have called for Liverpool to strengthen in that area.
It looks like the former Red could have his wish granted with the Telegraph stating Liverpool is ‘expected to be in the running’ for Kerkez when he ‘goes on the market in the summer’. The outlet also claims that the 21-year-old could cost upwards of £40million ($51m) and Liverpool could try and entice Kerkez given his relationship with sporting director Richard Hughes, who signed the player for Bournemouth in 2023.
“Kerkez is thought to be on Liverpool’s radar for when they look at bolstering their options at left-back,” claims the Telegraph, while adding: “Other clubs in Europe are set to be part of the race.”
Meanwhile, transfer reporter Ben Jacobs has claimed via Give Me Sport that Kerkez is ‘likely to leave the Cherries this summer and has changed agents in anticipation of an exit’. His new agent Fali Ramadani is already looking at possible options for the Bournemouth star.
The report adds that Manchester United had previously monitored the full-back, while Chelsea and Real Madrid retain interest, however the latter is focusing on signing a right-back at this stage.
Other outlets have since reported that Kerkez is a clear Liverpool transfer target, and it looks like a story that will continue to rumble on over the coming months.

“I believe I can make it at the top level of football,” the full-back said in January, although he did separately claim he ‘will not go to Liverpool’.
Asked about Kerkez ahead of last month’s meeting, Arne Slot said : “He is over here and he is having a great season. That shows you how good of a manager you have over here and what a great sporting director you had over here.
“But he [Hughes] brought in many good players and the manager works with every player to bring them in an incredible way, including the one you just mentioned. But I am not talking about an individual, they are all bringing the best out of their game at the moment.”
