Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen is a major target for Real Madrid, talkSPORT understands.

Huijsen, 19, has a release clause of around £50m in his Cherries contract having signed from Juventus last summer.

That means Bournemouth stand to make a huge profit on the Spain Under-21 international, who was born in the Netherlands, if the Spanish giants follow up the interest.

Real boss Carlo Ancelotti also remains an admirer of Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite.

Huijsen has been one of Bournemouth’s standout players this season with the Cherries firmly in the mix for European football.

The teenager has made 25 appearances this season and even weighed in with a couple of goals.

His impressive displays have caught the attention of a host of top European clubs with Bayern Munich and Liverpool previously credited with an interest.

Huijsen has proved to be a stellar signing for Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola and the stats back up his fine performances.

The 19-year-old averages a tackle win rate of 61.6% and 2.2 interceptions per-90 minutes.

He is contracted to Bournemouth until 2030 however a £50m release clause is set to come into effect this summer.

Real Madrid are already plotting reinforcements ahead of next season following an injury-hit campaign which has seen defenders David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger and Dani Carvajal all sidelined through injury.

Madrid have called upon academy graduate Raul Asencio to fill in while Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni have also provided cover.

The depths of Real Madrid’s defensive woes were laid bare on Tuesday as midfielder Federico Valverde was forced to deputise at right-back for the Champions League round-of-16 victory over Atletico Madrid.

Ancelotti’s future as Real Madrid head coach remains unclear beyond the end of the season.

However, should the legendary Italian remain in the dug out then a raid on his former club Everton is not out of the question.

Branthwaite’s performances for the Toffees has impressed Ancelotti who would welcome his arrival at the Bernabeu.

And with the Everton star being likely to cross paths with Madrid favourite Jude Bellingham on international duty later this month, convincing him of a move to the Spanish capital could prove to be easy pickings.

The 22-year-old was a target for Manchester United last summer before the Red Devils settled on Leny Yoro.
