Manchester City had a week to rest as they are already out of the Champions League. After beating Plymouth Argyle in the fifth round of the FA Cup, they are preparing to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League in an away fixture this weekend.

The Citizens will try to continue whatever good momentum they have built in recent days. As Pep Guardiola’s side is battling for a spot in the top four on the points table, they will be motivated to clinch all three points and remain in a comfortable position.

Defence

Ederson is likely to return between the sticks for Manchester City, sending Stefan Ortega back to the bench. Rico Lewis also marks his return at the right-back spot at the cost of Vitor Reis.

Abdukodir Khusanov and Ruben Dias are forming the heart of the defence. Meanwhile, Joško Gvardiol is appearing as the left full-back in the starting XI.

Midfield

Pep Guardiola should recall Mateo Kovacic and Nico Gonzalez to deploy them in the middle of the park. The two midfielders will provide stability and control in the midfield.

Attack

Guardiola is expected to change the entire attacking group as the City returns for the Premier League fixture. Savinho could be seen playing on the right flank with Jeremy Doku taking care of the other side of the pitch.

Omar Marmoush is operating in the attacking midfield area with Erling Haaland being the sole striker in the side.

Nathan Ake recently joined the absentees list which includes Rodri (ACL), Manuel Akanji (abductor), John Stones (thigh) and Oscar Bobb (fitness).
