‘Life After Football’, available on CITY+, explores the challenges, emotions, and life-changing decisions players face when their football careers come to an end.
From club legends to academy graduates, the documentary delves into the personal stories of former Manchester City stars as they navigate the transition from the pitch to new beginnings.
You’ll hear from Fernandinho as he wrestles with the decision to retire or push on, guided by Pep Guardiola’s advice. Paul Lake reflects on the heartbreak of a career-ending injury, while Jacob Wright shares how rehabilitation and recovery have transformed in the modern era. David Brightwell discusses his choice to walk away from football to pursue a completely different path as a fireman.
