Liverpool injury, suspension list and return dates for Southampton: Cody Gakpo, Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley latest

On the back of a proper smash-and-grab win in the Champions League, Liverpool hope to make lighter work of Southampton in Saturday’s top vs. bottom Premier League battle at Anfield.

The Alisson Becker-inspired Reds somehow left Paris Saint-Germain’s turf with a 1-0 victory from the first leg of their UCL last-16 tie on Wednesday night, as Harvey Elliott struck a late winner off the bench.

While Arne Slot‘s men will be counting their lucky stars after that performance, their 13-point lead at the top of the Premier League table has been predominantly down to sheer skill, and they already have a firm grip on the trophy ahead of Saturday’s mismatch on paper.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool’s latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Southampton, who have collected 58 fewer points than Slot’s side in 2024-25.

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: March 8 (vs. Southampton)

Cody Gakpo made the trip to the French capital for Wednesday’s win over PSG, but the Dutchman was not involved in the matchday squad owing to the knock he recently sustained, and his participation in Saturday’s game is also up in the air.

Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 2 (vs. Everton)

Backup right-back Conor Bradley is currently working his way back from a hamstring problem, one that is expected to render him unavailable until after the next international break.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: May 10 (vs. Arsenal)

Fellow defender Joe Gomez is also in the infirmary due to a severe hamstring injury, but the Englishman still might be able to return before the top-flight campaign concludes.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: Unknown

Tyler Morton suffered a serious shoulder injury a few weeks ago, and there is no timeframe on the midfielder’s return to action, but he is only a fringe player anyway.

LIVERPOOL SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this match, and the Reds will welcome Amara Nallo back from the Champions League ban he served in midweek.
