England player spotted in crowd during Luke Littler match and the message he held up has got people talking

An England international was spotted holding a bizarre sign while watching Luke Littler at night five of the Premier League Darts.

Littler, 18, won night five of the competition, which took place in Brighton.

And the crowd were under scrutiny following the event after the teenager revealed that a fan had thrown a pint towards Nathan Aspinall as he was walking to the Oche ahead of their final.

“I think there was a pint thrown at Nathan as soon as he came up on the stage – crazy,” Littler said in a press conference.

“I think we all know some have been good, some have been a bit bad,” he added.

“But that is the darts fans for you, they are either good or they are either bad.”

Among the crowd at the Brighton Centre was a Premier League footballer, and fans spotted the fact that he held up a rather risky sign.

Brighton captain Lewis Dunk was spotted in the crowd and held a sign which read: “Hurzeler in,” in reference to the club’s head coach Fabian Hürzeler.

However, the word ‘out’ had been written three times before it was crossed out.

Dunk, 33, has featured 20 times for the Seagulls this term, with the team currently eighth in the league ahead of game week 28.

Fans had their say on social media.

One said: “Finger on the pulse. Dunky has definitely heard the comments from certain parts of the fanbase in recent weeks.”

Another added: “God I love Dunk calling out everyone who wanted Hurzeler gone.”

While a third explained: “Lewis Dunk with this sign cracked me up.”

Several photographs of Dunk’s teammate Joel Veltman, who was also in attendance, emerged on social media.

Generally, Brighton supporters seemed to have no problem with their players enjoying the darts.

However, back in December, Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison was spotted among the crowd at Alexandra Palace while Luke Humphries took on Peter Wright in the World Championship – and not everyone was so pleased.

Earlier in the day, he was deemed only well enough to start as a substitute during Spurs’ 2-2 draw against Wolves, much to the annoyance of several supporters.

But Ange Postecoglou later revealed that he had “no problem with the players having lives”.
