Liverpool have some of the best attacking talent in the Premier League right now.
Mohamed Salah is in Ballon d’Or winning form, while Luis Diaz has earned plenty of praise for his performances this season.
However, Liverpool are still in the market for a new attacker at some point in the near future.
Indeed, Liverpool have been linked with Nico Williams as of late, while Liverpool wanted Anthony Gordon last summer.
The Reds have their eye on the attacking market, and speaking on The Overlap, Jamie Carragher has named one player he’d really like the Reds to sign.
Previewing this weekend’s games, Jamie Carragher was discussing Aston Villa’s upcoming match against Brentford, and he named Morgan Rogers as a player he’d really like Liverpool to sign in the summer.

Jamie Carragher would really like Morgan Rogers at Liverpool
Carragher spoke about Rogers ahead of Aston Villa’s game this weekend.
The pundit says that the £8m man is a really good player, and that he’d love him at Liverpool.
Interestingly, Rogers recently praised Luis Suarez as one of his favourite players in Premier League history.
Rogers has been a revelation for Aston Villa over the past 12 months, fitting into Unai Emery’s side brilliantly and even earning international recognition from England.
“I’ll tell you what, that Rogers is a good player isn’t he? You know what, I’d love him for Liverpool, oh he’s a good player isn’t he?” Carragher said.
Morgan Rogers stats this season
Carragher says he’d love Rogers at Liverpool, and it’s easy to see why.
The young attacker has been brilliant for Aston Villa this season, and the stats show just how fantastic he has been.
Morgan Rogers stats this season | |
---|---|
39 | |
Goals | 12 |
Assists | 6 |
Rogers has had a fantastic return in terms of goals and assists this season, but, frighteningly, that doesn’t even do him justice as a player.
Rogers is so often in the right position to make things happen, and, if certain situations had gone differently, he’d have scored and assisted even more than he already has this season.
In a super creative team like Arne Slot’s Liverpool side, Rogers would thrive, and it’s very easy to understand why Carragher is so keen on the England international heading to Anfield.
This would be a deal that’s very difficult to pull off, but if the Reds could find a way to sign Rogers, they’d be getting one of the Premier League’s very best young players.
