Tottenham Hotspur will look to edge closer to the top half of the Premier League table when they host Bournemouth on Sunday.

Tottenham have endured a difficult season and currently sit a lowly 13th in the Premier League table, though they’re still in the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth sit seventh in the table and, with how few points there are between the teams chasing Europe, a top-four spot is very much up for grabs.

Tottenham v Bournemouth team news

Ange Postecoglou hopes both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven will be able to feature against the Cherries.

Both were named in Tottenham’s matchday squad against AZ but Postecoglou opted not to risk them.

The Spurs boss also hopes both Dominic Solanke and Ben Davies will be able to be part of the squad for the game.

Spurs striker Richarlison remains sidelined through injury.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth’s Ryan Christie is dealing with ‘something chronic’ but hasn’t been ruled out of the Tottenham game.

However, Enes Unal, Marcos Senesi and Adam Smith remain on the sidelines.

Paul Merson is among the pundits who has predicted how Tottenham will fare against Bournemouth.

Mathys Tel backed to drop out as Tottenham’s first-choice centre-backs rested

Postecoglou will no doubt have an eye on Thursday’s Europa League last-16 second-leg clash with AZ.

With that in mind, he could well prioritise that game, though he’ll probably still go with a fairly strong line-up against the Cherries.

Pedro Porro, who didn’t start against AZ, could return to the XI in place of Destiny Udogie, with Djed Spence shifting to the left.

Although Van de Ven and Romero are fit again, Postecoglou may be reluctant to risk them both from the off, so we predict they’ll start on the bench.

Lucas Bergvall may have scored an own goal in midweek, but he did well overall and was very unlucky with regards to what happened.

That said, we predict there’s a chance he could be given a rest, with Pape Matar Sarr pushing for a recall.

Elsewhere, we predict Wilson Odobert will be handed a start against the Cherries, with Mathys Tel making way and Son Heung-min playing centrally.

Tel, who Spurs have signed on loan with a £50million option to buy, struggled in midweek and could be handed a rest before being brought on later on.
