On Saturday, Coventry City will attempt to claim a fifth consecutive victory when they play host to a Stoke City side managed by their former boss Mark Robins.

The Sky Blues are sitting in fifth place in the Championship table, while the Potters are languishing in 20th position.

We say: Coventry City 2-1 Stoke City

Coventry will carry significant momentum into Saturday’s fixture after winning four consecutive matches, and we think that they will continue that fine run of form by claiming a narrow win over their former manager, especially as Stoke have lost three of their last four away games.

Watford will look to extend their three-game unbeaten run when they welcome Millwall to Vicarage Road for Saturday’s Championship fixture.

The Hornets are in 10th spot with 49 points to their name, while the Lions are four points further back in 12th position.

We say: Watford 2-0 Millwall

After winning two of their last three matches, Watford will be looking to collect three more points to aid their playoff bid, and we ultimately believe they will make full use of home advantage to see off Millwall in Saturday’s home fixture.

Bristol City‘s bid for promotion to the Premier League continues this weekend as they take on Hull City at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

The Robins are only outside the playoff zone on goal difference, and they moved up to seventh in the table with an impressive 2-0 win at Millwall on Tuesday evening.

We say: Bristol City 2-1 Hull City

The hosts have an excellent record against Hull on their own patch, and with the Robins going strong, we think that they will edge this match.

The visitors have already demonstrated their ability to spring a surprise this season, so they are more than capable of getting a result, but we think that Bristol City will carry their momentum from their triumph against Millwall and get another important three points here.

Burnley will continue their promotion push when they lock horns with relegation-threatened Luton Town in Saturday’s clash at Turf Moor.

The Clarets head into the weekend in third spot in the Championship table, while the Hatters are languishing in the relegation zone.

We say: Burnley 2-0 Luton Town

While Luton would have been buoyed by their recent win over Portsmouth, Saturday’s fixture against a promotion contender represents a much tougher test, especially as they have lost 13 of the last 14 away league games.

We ultimately believe the hosts will have the extra quality required to maintain their unbeaten home league record with a relatively comfortable victory.

Derby County head coach John Eustace on February 22, 2025© Imago

John Eustace faces his former club this weekend, as his Derby County side host Blackburn Rovers at Pride Park on Saturday.

Eustace made the surprise switch to Derby last month, swapping a promotion push with Rovers for a relegation battle with the Rams.

We say: Derby County 0-2 Blackburn Rovers

Eustace took a risk in leaving Blackburn for Derby earlier this year, and so far it has not paid off.

We think his old employers will get the better of his Derby side this weekend, as the hosts continue to struggle in their battle against relegation.

Plymouth Argyle head coach Miron Muslic pictured on February 1, 2025© Imago

Both aiming to end winless runs, Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield Wednesday will do battle at Home Park on Saturday.

Following a midweek defeat, the hosts remain 23rd in the Championship table and six points adrift of safety, while their visitors have fallen to 13th spot following three straight losses.

We say: Plymouth Argyle 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Plymouth Argyle only have hopes of survival lingering thanks to their relatively creditable home record, while Sheffield Wednesday are stronger on the road than at Hillsborough.

With the hosts struggling to put results together in their survival bid and the visitors in the midst of a losing run and dropping out of the playoff race, we see a share of the points as the most likely outcome at Home Park.

Sheffield United will aim to strengthen their position in the top two of the Championship table on Saturday, when they welcome Preston North End to Bramall Lane.

The hosts sit two points clear of third spot in the automatic promotion race, while their visitors sit 15th in the midst of a four-match winless run.

We say: Sheffield United 1-0 Preston North End

Following consecutive clean sheets, Paul Heckingbottom and his Preston North End side will look to damage his former club’s promotion hopes on Saturday, but they could fall just short given the quality throughout the Blades’ squad and their renewed confidence from last week’s away win.

Sunderland will attempt to claim a second straight victory when they welcome Cardiff City to the Stadium of Light for Saturday’s Championship encounter.

The hosts occupy fourth place in the Championship standings, while the Bluebirds are operating at the opposite end of the table in 21st position.

We say: Sunderland 2-1 Cardiff City

Sunderland enter Saturday’s contest with the third-best home record in the division, and we believe they will make full use of home advantage to get the better of a Cardiff side that have lost two of their previous three away league games.

Manager of Middlesbrough Michael Carrick applauds fans at the end of his side's match Burnley against Burnley, on December 6, 2024© Imago

Middlesbrough make the journey to Wales this weekend as they face off with Swansea City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Michael Carrick’s side are currently ninth in the standings, just two points off the playoff places, while the Swans are currently 16th.

We say: Swansea City 1-1 Middlesbrough

The hosts look an improved outfit under the temporary guidance of Sheehan, and we think that they can grab a point against a Boro team that are coming out of a rough patch in the league.

The injuries are mounting up for Middlesbrough, and therefore, we feel that Swansea are capable of getting a draw in what should be a close encounter.

New West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Mowbray introduced to fans before his side's match against Stoke City, on January 18, 2025© Imago

West Bromwich Albion host Queens Park Rangers at The Hawthorns this weekend, hoping to maintain their push for promotion to the Premier League.

Albion are currently sixth in the table, with 52 points from 35 matches, while QPR are 14th, eight points off the playoff zone.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 2-1 Queens Park Rangers

The hosts come into this game in slightly better form than QPR, and with home advantage, we are expecting the Baggies to claim all three points.

It should be an entertaining encounter at The Hawthorns, as both teams need the points to continue their promotion push, despite the visitors looking like outsiders given their recent slump.
