Liverpool are now just a handful of wins away from claiming the Premier League title this season.

The Reds came from behind to avoid a shock against Southampton on Saturday, claiming a 3-1 victory at Anfield.

After going 1-0 in the first half, a record-breaking Mohamed Salah double and a finish from Darwin Nunez turned things around.

It moved them 16 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League after 29 games – albeit with the Gunners playing two less.

However, they now know how many more points they need to secure the top-flight title after an incredible campaign.

When can Liverpool win the title?

Liverpool need 18 more points to secure the Premier League crown.

They only need six more wins to get the job done, even if Arsenal manage to win all of their remaining games.

The Gunners can reach a maximum of 87 points, so it leaves Slot’s men needing to reach 88 to win the title in his first year in charge.

All eyes will be set on winning each and every game to get their hands on some silverware, and that starts next month.

They will host Everton at Anfield on April 2 after the upcoming international break for a Merseyside derby.

Then clashes against Fulham and West Ham follow.

After that, Liverpool travel to struggling Leicester, and then they host Ange Postecoglou‘s Tottenham.

Liverpool are cruising towards the Premier League title

Liverpool’s remaining games

  • Liverpool vs Everton – April 2
  • Fulham vs Liverpool – April 6
  • Liverpool vs West Ham – April 13
  • Leicester vs Liverpool – April 20
  • Liverpool vs Tottenham – April 27
  • Chelsea vs Liverpool – May 3
  • Liverpool vs Arsenal – May 10
  • Brighton vs Liverpool – May 18
  • Liverpool vs Crystal Palace – May 25

If the Reds win all of those games, and presuming Arsenal win theirs too, they’d need one more win to claim the Premier League title.

And that could be achieved against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the start of May, with the game currently scheduled for May 3.

Should they win the title in that game, they are likely to get a guard of honour from all remaining opponents this season.

This would mean that Arsenal, who look set to miss out on Premier Leage glory again, could perform the gesture for their rivals.

It’s not compulsory for teams to do so, but usually they do to show respect for the title-winners’ achievements.

It’s something that would hurt Mikel Arteta and his squad as they would have to applaud the team who beat them to the title.

If Liverpool slip up before that meeting with Arsenal on May 10, there’s potential for them to clinch it against the Gunners.

But things remain up in the air regarding the exact time that the Reds can get their hands on the silverware.

There are still a lot of games to go this season, of course.

One thing’s for sure, though: Slot’s side will lift the Premier League trophy on the final day against Crystal Palace if they clinch it.

And what an end that would be to the first season without Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool.
