Bayern Munich exec irritated with João Palhinha after red card during VfL Bochum defeat

Max Eberl was not happy with the entire situation…

It appears that Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha was not the only one seeing red after his questionable challenge resulted in a red card during a 3-2 loss to VfL Bochum.

Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl did not sound thrilled with the 29-year-old.

“You should avoid flying into such challenges so that the referee has the chance to give you a red card. If we are one man down, then we have to run more to compensate for that man,” Eberl told t-online (via @iMiaSanMia).

This has not been a banner campaign for Palhinha. Injuries, illnesses, and a slow transition to a new club have all felled the Portuguese international. A move that was so coveted by many, now appears on the verge of tanking.

Can Palhinha put this behind him and find that drive and intensity that made him such a wanted man at Bayern Munich in the first place?
