Arsenal took on Manchester United in a Premier League classic on Sunday.
Encounters between the Gunners and the Red Devils are often entertaining affairs – with memories of Martin Keown clashing against Ruud van Nistelrooy almost engrained in many a mind.
However – before Sunday’s game at Old Trafford – Chelsea moved to within five points of Arsenal with a win over Leicester.
While that result will not directly upset Arsenal too much – given the fact there remains a sizeable gap between the two clubs – something Moises Caicedo did in the 92nd minute should irk fans.
Moises Caicedo somehow avoids ban for Arsenal vs Chelsea
In the 92nd minute of Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Leicester on Sunday, the Ecuador international somehow escaped a yellow card for spoiling a break for the Foxes with a tug of the shirt.
Such an act would typically land most footballers a booking, although Caicedo managed to escape punishment from Tim Robinson.
Why would this annoy Arsenal, you may ask? Well, a yellow for the South American would have landed him a two-game ban, seeing as he currently sits on nine yellow cards for the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, with Chelsea travelling to Arsenal next Sunday.
Heading into that fixture without Caicedo would have given Arsenal a huge advantage – given how effective the Chelsea No.25 has been this season – so Mikel Arteta can feel a bit annoyed that Robinson failed to book the Ecuadorian.
Of course, by the same logic, you could argue Tottenham will also be irked by this development, although the 23-year-old could yet still be booked against Arsenal and miss the meeting with Spurs.
When Arsenal tried to sign Moises Caicedo
In an alternate universe, the Chelsea maestro would be playing in red rather than blue next Sunday.

Some fans may recall when Arsenal bid £70m for Caicedo back in January 2023 – leading him to even submit a transfer request – although Brighton held firm.
Chelsea later spent £115m to sign Caicedo – who has convinced Joel Ordonez to join – in August 2023, with Arsenal opting to splash £105m on Declan Rice instead of pursuing the Ecuadorian any longer.
