Exclusive: Newcastle keeping a close eye on wonderkid winger who plays a ‘bit like Arjen Robben’

TBR Football understands that Newcastle United are continuing to do checks on the progress of Norwegian forward Sindre Walle Egeli.

FC Nordsjaelland and the teenager have impressed since the restart of their Danish Superliga campaign following the winter break with three wins from four.

Their latest triumph came at the weekend with a 3-1 success over Vejle and Walle Egeli was in fine form as he produced a goal and an assist.

The 18-year-old’s performances for Nordsjaelland have seen him attract plenty of interest from around Europe, with the Magpies one of several clubs who are closely following him.

Newcastle United working on deal to sign Sindre Walle Egeli 

Newcastle United were one of a host of clubs checking on the Scandinavian wide-man, who plays on the right, sources have told Graeme Bailey – chief correspondent at TBR Football.

TBR Football also understands that European clubs RB Leipzig and Atalanta have also been watching the 18-year-old in action over recent weeks.

Meanwhile from the Premier League, Liverpool, Brentford, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Everton have all seen him in action this season.

After his weekend exploits, Walle Egeli now has six goals and four assists to his name in the Superliga, which is quite impressive considering his age.

Walle Egeli has proven he can play on either flank, making him an even more attractive proposition to interested clubs.

Sindre Walle Egeli claims that his biggest strength is his left foot and has likened his style of play to Arjen Robben with his ability to cut inside and shoot with his opposite foot.

Speaking to Eurosport, Walle Egeli revealed: “I would say that my left foot is clearly my greatest skill. You can say that I’m a bit like Arjen Robben, since I’m on the right and like to cut in.”
