Manchester United may already be preparing to move on from Amorim after just four months.

Manchester United are reportedly already eyeing up a potential replacement for Ruben Amorim, but they aren’t the only Premier League club interested.

Since arriving at Old Trafford as the replacement for former manager Erik ten Hag in November, Amorim has struggled as United boss.

In his first season in charge, the Portuguese manager has led his new club to only five wins in the Premier League, drawing three matches and, shockingly, losing eight.

And a new report has claimed that United may already be preparing themselves for the possibility of replacing Amorim, as they’ve already picked out their ideal replacement.

As it stands, United are 14th in the Premier League table, putting them on track for their worst finish since the competition was founded in 1992, leading to some fans calling for Amorim to be replaced despite only arriving just four months ago.

And, according to Italian outlet TuttoSport, United share this concern and are keeping an eye on Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi ahead of his current deal with the Serie A side expiring next year.

Inzaghi is enjoying a fantastic season with Inter Milan this term as he currently sits on top of the Serie A table having won the title last season.

But the outlet claims that United are not alone in their admiration for the Italian manager as Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on the as a potential replacement for Ange Postecoglu, who has also struggled this season.

However, it remains unlikely that United will be looking to part ways with Amorim anytime in the near future, as club minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe praised the United manager in a bombshell interview on Monday.

“I think Ruben has done an excellent job,” Ratcliffe told Gary Neville on The Overlap.

“I really like Ruben. I think in the circumstances… I mean he arrived mid-season, he didn’t have time to train his players in the way in which he wants to play, he inherited a squad which he’s had no influence on, and the squad isn’t necessarily designed for the way in which he plays football, and English isn’t his natural language, and he’s never played in the Premier League before, and he’s managing the biggest club in the world, and it’s a tough place, and he’s a young guy.

“If you take all of that into consideration, I think he’s done a remarkably good job.”
