The lad can’t catch a break

Aleksandar Pavlović is known for two things: the next big midfielder for both Bayern Munich and Germany, and misfortune when it comes to keeping free of illness. The latter happened and put the 20-year-old out of action for around a month:

Aleksandar Pavlović is suffering from a ‘massive viral infection’. He will miss Leverkusen and Union Berlin, as well as Germany’s games against Italy. The hope is that he would resume training after the international break.

– Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia

Bayern is no stranger to its midfielders having a ‘mare. Last time out, João Palhinha was sent off with a questionable red card in his first game back from injury during the Bavarians’ most recent league game. Pavlović’s absence is a huge blow to the team who will look to build upon their 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
