Axel Disasi is now five games into his loan spell at Aston Villa from Chelsea.
The France international was offloaded by Enzo Maresca in January after a string of unconvincing performances for the Blues, with the Villans providing a platform to impress elsewhere for six months.
Tottenham tried to sign Disasi – but ultimately lost out to Aston Villa.
There are still plenty of games remaining in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup for Unai Emery to assess Axel Disasi – but a decision has already been made on his future by those at Villa Park.
Aston Villa want to keep Axel Disasi
A story by Foot Mercato now states that Aston Villa are keen to keep the Frenchman.
The French news outlet state that the Villans are delighted by how well Disasi has slotted into the backline, and want to strike an agreement over a permanent deal with Chelsea as soon as the season ends.
However, Foot Mercato add that other Premier League clubs are admirers of the 26-year-old, so there could yet be competition for his signature.
Disasi has helped Aston Villa win two – and draw two – of his five appearances for the club so far, appearing in the centre and on the right of Emery’s backline.
How much Chelsea could demand for Axel Disasi
Chelsea paid £38.8m to sign Disasi from Monaco back in August 2023.

A story from talkSPORT claimed in January that the Blues will require a sale of £30m to avoid a loss in terms of PSR – with that £38.8m fee being paid in instalments.
Therefore, we expect Chelsea to demand at least £30m for Disasi – although Aston Villa have already paid a £5m loan fee, so that could be deducted from a permanent sale, in our opinion.
TBR Football understand Maresca wanted to sell Disasi permanently – so we cannot see the Italian digging his heels in to keep the Frenchman at Stamford Bridge this summer.
