Ruben Amorim behind major change during Man Utd games at Old Trafford that few people have noticed

It has been revealed that Ruben Amorim is the reason why Manchester United have decided to make a massive change to how they play home matches.

United boss Amorim has struggled in his first four months in the Old Trafford dugout, with the club on target for their lowest Premier League finish since the competition began in 1992.

Since his arrival in November, the has led his new club to only five wins in the Premier League, drawing four matches and, shockingly, losing eight.

This has led the Portuguese manager to implement a massive change to United’s game plan at Old Trafford that fans have started to notice.

Of the nine matches that Amorim has led United at home, he’s seen victory on only three, winning the matches against Everton, Southampton and Ipswich Town.

However, ahead of the FA Cup clash with Fulham, Amorim decided to make a big change of United’s game plan at Old Trafford, choosing to attack the Stretford End in the first half of the match instead of the latter half.

Previously, United always attacked the area where their most vociferous fans are based in the second half as it was seen as the perfect way to finish games strongly.

But since making the change, United have drawn two of their three home games and won the other, seemingly showing that Amorim’s new method is working.

The change is reportedly popular amongst the United squad who, according to The Athletic, view the new strategy as a good way of disrupting the opposition as well as changing their own luck.

And this is reflected in their performances, as they have come together to score three first-half goals in past three matches, compared to one in the previous seven

Amorim will get another chance to test this strategy on Thursday night as United welcome La Liga side Real Sociedad to Old Trafford for the second leg of their Europa League round of 16 clash.

The two sides head into the tie locked in a 1-1 draw, meaning tensions will be as high as ever when the match kicks off at 8pm.
