Tottenham Hotspur managed to salvage a point at home to Bournemouth as the hosts came from behind to draw 2-2 in North London.

Spurs had one of their worst first-half performances under Ange Postecoglou, however, a quartet of substitutions just after the hour mark helped swing the game into their favour.

There was also the performance of one of the team’s key players who is quickly showing just how important he is for the Australian manager’s team.

Guglielmo Vicario tops Premier League chart for goals prevented

Guglielmo Vicario is now top of the Premier League chart for most goals prevented after his impressive display against Bournemouth.

The Italian added 0.54 goals prevented to his tally as he made six saves against the Cherries, including an impressive one-on-one stop to deny Evanilson.

Vicario impressed versus AZ Alkmaar and continued his strong form at home to Bournemouth, as he kept Spurs within touching distance of the visitors.

The 28-year-old is now 0.8 goals prevented ahead of the rather impressive Matz Sels with the Nottingham Forest goalkeeper sitting in second place.

Guglielmo Vicario 4.9
Matz Sels 3.7
Dean Henderson 3.6
Ederson Moraes 3.1

Vicario, who James Maddison called ‘outstanding’, has had a tricky season following his ankle injury which saw him miss several months, however, he’s certainly picked up from where he left off.

There had been suggestions that new signing Antonin Kinsky should keep his place in the team when Vicario returned, but the Italian international is quickly proving that wrong.

Following their 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, Spurs will have left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium wondering how they managed to salvage a point.

The Cherries dominated large parts of the game in North London and at 2-0 looked like they were going to, without doubt, leave with all three points.

Well, if it wasn’t for Vicario Spurs almost certainly wouldn’t have taken anything with the number one making several key saves.

The 28-year-old denied Andoni Ireola’s side on six occasions as he produced another display to save Ange Postecoglou’s blushes.
