Liverpool are expected to be very active in this summer’s transfer window.
The Reds came under a fair bit of criticism at the start of this campaign, when they signed just one player in the entire window – Federico Chiesa.
Many people expected that to lead to Arne Slot’s downfall, but the Dutchman has all but won Liverpool the Premier League title now.
To go to the next level, Liverpool will have to sign new players in the upcoming window, and the expectation is that they will make multiple additions.
Troy Deeney has now had his say about one of Slot’s targets.
Troy Deeney delivers verdict on Liverpool target Milos Kerkez
Milos Kerkez is earning rave reviews for his performances at Bournemouth this season.
The Cherries have been one of the surprise packages in the Premier League this term. They are in with a chance of qualifying for Europe, which would be a phenomenal achievement.
A number of Bournemouth’s players have impressed over the last year, but none more than Kerkez, who is attracting a ton of interest.
TBR Football confirmed earlier in March that Liverpool are closely following Kerkez as they look to strengthen their left-back position this summer.
The Hungarian is doing his reputation no harm – he produced another excellent display against Tottenham at the weekend, providing a stunning assist to Marcus Tavernier’s goal.
That convinced Deeney to name Kerkez in his Team of the Week on BBC Sport, and the pundit went as far as saying that the defender is already one of the best in the world in his position.
He wrote: “For me he is one of the best left-backs in world football already. He is exceptional with the ball and without it, runs all day and has loads of room to grow.
“It is not surprising that Liverpool have been linked to him.”
How much Liverpool will have to pay to sign Milos Kerkez
Kerkez will have plenty of suitors in this summer’s transfer window.
Liverpool are definitely one of the clubs looking at the Bournemouth star, while Tottenham and Manchester United have been big admirers of Kerkez too in the past.
Italian giants Juventus have also been linked with a move to sign the Hungarian left-back.
Bournemouth, however, are in a strong position in potential transfer negotiations as Kerkez’s contract does not expire until the summer of 2028.
TBR can confirm that the Cherries are demanding around £50 million for the 21-year-old. It remains to be seen if Liverpool will agree to pay that much this summer.
