Bayern Munich travels to the BayArena…
Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka figures to play a key role for Bayern Munich against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Recognizing Bayer Leverkusen’s ability to overcome incredible odds, Goretzka is glad to be carrying a 3-0 lead on aggregate into the match.
“It’s obviously an advantage that we’re coming here with a 3-0 lead from the first leg. It’s our fifth game against Leverkusen, and they were all really tight games. Regardless of the first leg, we want to win tomorrow and show our best side,” said Goretzka (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Goretzka knows that Bayer Leverkusen will look a little different given the injury to Florian Wirtz
“I wish Flo a speedy recovery. It’s a pity for him, Leverkusen and Germany. Leverkusen have a lot of good players. It doesn’t really change how to approach the game,” said Goretzka.
It remains to be seen how the homeside will compensate for losing Wirtz, but if Bayer Leverkusen has proven anything over the last two seasons, it is that they will go to battle with whoever is available — and never give up.
Knowing that, Goretzka and his mates will be on high alert.
