However, they just could not find a way past Alisson in the Reds net. The Brazilian was the star of the show in Paris, producing a man-of-the-match performance to thwart the likes of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembele.

Ahead of the clash under the lights at Anfield, Liverpool supporters welcomed their team to the ground amidst a sea of red smoke, setting off flares outside the ground to help create as fierce an environment as possible for PSG and their fans.

Slot has named as strong a possible side to face PSG, with Alisson starting in goal, shielded by a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.

Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch start in midfield, with Dominik Szoboszlai operating further ahead of the pair. Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz are named as the Reds front three.

Meanwhile, PSG boss Luis Enrique has named an unchanged side from the first leg, with Gianluigi Donnarumma starting between the sticks. The Parisian’s back four is made up of Achraf Hakimi, Willian Pacho, Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes, with Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha and Joao Neves operating in midfield.

And in attack, Kvaratskhelia, Barcola and Dembele also all start.
