It’s claimed Liverpool has a genuine interest in Milos Kerkez.
Left-back has been a problem position for Liverpool this season with Andy Robertson often struggling, although the Scotland captain’s performances have improved markedly over recent months. However, it still looks to be an area Arne Slot will target ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, something Jamie Carragher has repeatedly called for.
Kerkez is a name that has been routinely mentioned as a possible addition this summer and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has stated he is one of three targets at left-full-back along with Rayan Ait Nouri and Antonee Robinson.
“It’s not something guaranteed or agreed at this stage, it’s still early; but Liverpool want to bring in a new left-back in the summer as well as a centre-back and Kerkez is one of three main names on the shortlist already approved by Arne Slot,” Romano told Give Me Sport.
“Contacts are expected to follow and continue in the next months; Liverpool’s interest is genuine and concrete.” Romano believes Liverpool may have to pay the Cherries up to €45 million ($49 million) to secure the defender’s services in 2025.
Kerkez may not be the only summer transfer heading from Bournemouth to Liverpool, with fresh reports linking the latter with Dean Huijsen. Caught Offside claims the Reds have initiated talks with Bournemouth over a possible deal for the center-back, although they face major competition from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. Newcastle United, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich are also said to be in the running.
Caught Offside claims that offers between €30 million and €35 million ($33 million and $38 million) are expected imminently. Bournemouth could try and tie Huijsen down to a new contract to raise his transfer fee.
The 19-year-old only joined the Cherries from Juventus last summer for a paltry price of £13 million ($17 million) but Andoni Iraola’s team is likely to see a significant upsell if he moves at the end of the season. Huijsen has made 22 Premier League appearances this term and hasn’t missed a minute in the last 15 league outings.
