He accused Neville of being “in awe” of Ratcliffe.

YouTube personality and content creator Mark Goldbridge has called out Gary Neville for his much-talked-about interview with Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Neville grilled the British billionaire on a number of difficult subjects during a wide-ranging interview on The Overlap’s YouTube channel, including United’s financial struggles and their “bloated” wage bill.

He also brought up Dan Ashworth’s untimely departure from his role as sporting director and accused Ratcliffe of providing an “umbrella” for the barrage of criticism directed at the Glazer family.

“Change requires some unpopular decisions,” said Ratcliffe. “I think I have to accept that I’m going to be unpopular. I don’t know how long I’m going to be unpopular, maybe I’ll be unpopular for a long period time.”

He added: “But I think it’s worth being unpopular to fight our way through the changes that are necessary to get Manchester United back to where it should be.”

Many have praised Neville for his no-nonsense line of questioning, but United fan Mark Goldbridge has accused the former defender-turned-pundit of being “in awe” of Ratcliffe.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he wrote: “Just finished. Shame you didn’t ask why he rescued the Glazers? Why he thinks his cutting costs will work when it’s never worked for any other club? You seemed in awe of him.”

Goldbridge criticised Ratcliffe on Sunday afternoon, shortly after thousands of United fans protested against the club’s ownership ahead of their Premier League clash against Arsenal.

The 1958 protest group announced plans to protest against the club’s ownership, with supporters being asked to dress in black to make their feelings clear on how the club is being operated.

A spokesperson from The 1958 said: “The club is slowly dying before our eyes, on and off the pitch, and the blame lies squarely at the current ownership model. In many ways, this is the biggest crisis the club faced since the Munich air disaster [which killed 23 in 1958] which inspires our name.”

In the 25th minute at Old Trafford, cameras panned to the INEOS businessman, who could be seen laughing with United CEO Omar Berrada as Edward Glazer sat in front of the club chiefs.

Goldbridge took to social media after the footage emerged and said: “Sir Jim sat laughing…hasn’t a care in the world has he…”
