Report: How Harry Kane really feels about returning to Tottenham from Bayern Munich this summer

When Harry Kane swapped Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich in pursuit of trophies in 2023, there was always the feeling that the striker would one day return to north London.

In total, Kane made 435 appearances for Tottenham scoring 280 goals – there was certainly never an issue with his goalscoring at the club.

But Kane’s brilliance didn’t result in trophies in N17 and at 30-year-old the England captain decided it was time to try something new.

Of course, Kane didn’t actually win any silverware during his first season in the Bundesliga, a campaign dominated by Xabi Alonso’s excellent Bayer Leverkusen side.

However, under Vincent Kompany’s guidance, Bayern have a healthy gap at the top this season and will still have ambitions to win the Champions League too.

That being said, Kane is still consistently linked with a move back to the Premier League, predominantly to either Spurs or Manchester United.

And whilst Kane is willing to return to Tottenham in the future, that’s a move that is unlikely to happen this summer.

According to Give Me Sport, Kane is not planning to rush a return to the Premier League, even if the opportunity comes this summer.

Kane had a £67m release clause in January, a figure that will even be reduced to around £55m at the early stages of next year.

But the report confirms that Kane is very happy at Bayern right now, and the striker has no plans to switch clubs imminently.

Kane signed a four-year contract with Bayern when he left Tottenham, and it seems almost certain that the Englishman will enter the third-year of that agreement next season.

Harry Kane’s goal scoring record continues at improve at Bayern

Despite scoring more than a goal every other game for Spurs, Kane has somehow managed to better his record for Bayern.

Kane has scored nine goals in 10 Champions League games this season taking his total for the campaign to 31 already, a remarkable record at 31-years-old.

Tottenham Hotspur 435 280 0.64
Bayern Munich 80 75 0.94

Kane remains Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer, a record that seems unlikely to be beaten any time soon, even if Son Heung-min has also scored an extraordinary amount of goals in N17.

Of course, Kane’s former teammate Mathys Tel has now joined Spurs with hopes of netting plenty of goals under Ange Postecoglou.

And Kane made a prediction about Tel at Tottenham, one that remains to be judged.
