Ben Foster watched one of Tottenham Hotspur’s key players produce a ‘worldie’ moment which saved Ange Postecoglou’s team against Bournemouth.
The decisive moment in the match allowed Tottenham Hotspur to salvage a point at home to the Cherries as they came from behind to draw 2-2 in North London.
Spurs produced one of their worst first-half performances under Ange Postecoglou, however, in the second 45 minutes the team showed fight to work their way back into the match.
But, Foster claims the Lilywhites would have almost certainly left empty handed if it wasn’t for a special moment from one of their best players in the early stages of the match.
Ben Foster lauds Guglielmo Vicario’s ‘worldie’ save vs Bournemouth
Ben Foster has lauded the ‘worldie’ save made by Guglielmo Vicario to deny Evanlison giving Bournemouth the lead after just 20 seconds.
Cristian Romero’s sloppy pass gifted the Brazilian a one-on-one in the very early stages of the match, however, Vicario was on hand to produce the save.
Throughout the match, Vicario demonstrated his importance to Postecoglou’s team as he produced several other top draw saves.
Foster told The Cycling GK Podcast: “It’s a worldie save! The only way he’s saving that is because he’s not guessing, he’s anticipating it and there’s a big difference between guessing and anticipating.
“He can smell it, he’s looking at everything, he’s assessed the whole situation, Vicario, he’s looked at the body position of the player.
“He’s anticipated it enough to get a little step there before he’s even kicked it, it’s a worldie – we’re talking finger tips.”
Guglielmo Vicario tops Premier League chart for goals prevented

The 28-year-old added 0.54 goals prevented to his tally as he made six saves against the Cherries, as he kept Postecoglou’s side in the game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
