Arsenal’s desire to sign forward players in the summer has been well documented and the Gunners are reportedly keen to sign one who has already worked with Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal are close to appointing Andrea Berta as their new sporting director and the former Atletico Madrid director may already have his eye on one elite forward.
Berta will be tasked with signing a top left winger and most importantly a striker with the North London club currently in desperate need of more firepower.
Now, Arsenal are being linked with a move for a player who has previously worked under Mikel Arteta and who has revealed his strong admiration for the Gunners’ boss.
Arsenal keen on signing Leroy Sane next summer
Arsenal are interested in signing Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane on a free transfer next summer, according to BILD journalist Christian Falk.
The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer and currently, there have been no talks over the German’s deal being renewed.
Sane, who Bayern signed for £55m, has eight goals and four assists in 34 appearances for the Bavarians this campaign and remains an important player for Vincent Kompany.

Bundesliga | 21 | 6 | 4 |
Champions League | 11 | 1 | 0 |
DFB-Pokal | 2 | 1 | 0 |
Total | 34 | 8 | 4 |
The North London club hold a potential key advantage over other clubs in the race to sign Sane as the German international has previously worked under Arteta.
What was Leroy Sane’s record when he worked under Mikel Arteta at Man City?
Sane was superb during his time at Manchester City and managed to become one of the best recognised forwards in Europe.
Pep Guardiola was of course the main man at City, however, Sane has hailed the work Arteta did with him at Man City claiming that he helped him make ‘huge improvements’ to his game.
The German winger produced 39 goals and 43 assists in 135 matches at City, which earned him his big-money move to Munich.
