Two goals conceded…
Lukas Hradecky let in two goals as Bayern Munich prevailed 2-0 against Bayer Leverkusen to advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Speaking post game, he discussed the team’s form, losing 3 games in a row.
“The last week has hit us, we’ve hit a bit of a dip in form,” said Hradecky (as captured by FCBayern.com). “Bayern were clearly better — when you lose 5-0 over two legs, there’s certainly big disappointment. But we can only learn from this.
“You feel the absences of players like Florian Wirtz, but Bayern also knew how to close off our spaces. We hardly had any proper attempts on goal. Bayern were clearly the better team, we have to acknowledge that. We’re nevertheless proud, we want to remain competitive against Bayern and the other big teams. We have to grow and come back from this disappointment.”
Hradecky is right: Bayern were clearly the better team. It remains to be seen how Leverkusen will bounce back from this, as the Bundesliga title too looks increasingly far-fetched for Leverkusen, who sit eight points below the Rekordmeister.
