Ange Postecoglou is under pressure, and there is a case to be made that Postecoglou should have been sacked months ago at this point.

However, Spurs have stuck by Postecoglou, but results simply aren’t improving.

Speaking on The View from The Lane, Jack Pitt-Brooke has been discussing Postecoglou’s positon and the view from within Spurs.

According to the journalist, things are still less toxic than they were towards the end of the Jose Mourinho or Antonio Conte era, while the players are still enjoying the football more than they did under Mourinho or Conte.

Tottenham players are enjoying Ange Postecoglou’s football more than other managers’

Pitt-Brooke shared what he knows about the Tottenham manager and how the squad feels about his style of play.

According to the journalist, things are less toxic within the club than they have been in the past, while the players aren’t hating the football as much as they did under Jose Mourinho or Antonio Conte.

“I did spend a lot of time thinking, I wonder if they’ll be able to avoid, this is meant to be a big change from the Mourinho-Conte era. And yet, does it feel that different from March 2021? Does it feel that different from March 2023 right now?” Pitt-Brooke said.

“I don’t actually think it does feel that different. It’s less kind of negative and toxic behind the scenes. I think it’s less, the football is meant to be less boring,

“The players don’t hate the football as much as the players hated the football of Mourinho and Conte. But overall, when you watch the team, I don’t think it feels that different from this time two years ago or this time four years ago.”

Ange Postecoglou compared to Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho

Tottenham’s players may be enjoying Ange Postecoglou’s football more than Mourinho or Conte’s, but football is a results-based business.

Indeed, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters in this game is how many games you win, and unfortunately for Postecoglou, his record this season has been poor.

In fact, Postecoglou’s record is much worse than Mourinho or Conte’s just before they were sacked.

Tottenham have consistency issues at the moment, and that has been a running theme ever since Postecoglou’s appointment at Spurs.

There have been calls to sack Postecoglou, and if he doesn’t manage to get past AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday, he could well be removed from his post before too long.
