The Bayern Munich Frauen have signed Alara Şehitler to a contract extension through 2027 per a release from FCBayern.com:
The FC Bayern Women can continue to rely on Alara Şehitler in the future! The midfielder has extended her contract with the reigning German champions until 2027. The 18-year-old has been with FC Bayern since the start of the 2023/24 season and has already made 22 competitive appearances for the Munich team, scoring five goals. The young player celebrated winning the German championship and the Supercup with FC Bayern Women last year.
Şehitler began her football career at SG Aulendorf. After further stints in the youth teams of SV Weingarten and FV Ravensburg, the midfielder moved to the Bavarian capital in the summer of 2023 and, at just 16 years old, made her Bundesliga debut in a 3-0 away win at Leipzig on Matchday 5 of the 2023/24 season. The creative player scored her first competitive goal for head coach Alexander Straus’ team in February 2024 in a 6-0 DFB Cup round of 16 victory against Kickers Offenbach.
She scored her first Bundesliga goal in the 3-2 win in Leverkusen last October, when Şehitler scored the winner for Munich in stoppage time. In November 2024, the 2022 U17 European champion made her debut for the German senior national team in the DFB team’s 6-0 win in Switzerland.
Bianca Rech, director of women’s football, is getting work done this week. Just a day after signing Klara Bühl to an extension, Rech inked Şehitler.
“We are delighted that Alara has decided to stay at FC Bayern for another few years. She’s already very advanced for her age. On the football field, Alara is a gifted technician and incredibly fun to watch. Very few players her age possess the physicality she does. This season, it has already become apparent that the coach is using her more and more and is expressing his confidence in her from the start, even in important matches,” said Rech. “We are therefore convinced that she can play a major role for our team in the coming years. It will be exciting to see how she develops in the future. Especially starting in the summer, when she has finished school and can concentrate fully on football, a whole new phase of development will begin for Alara.”
As for Şehitler, the midfielder is thrilled to stay at Bayern Munich longer.
“I was already very happy when I signed my first contract with FC Bayern two years ago. Now, of course, I’m even happier that I’ve been able to extend it. FC Bayern is the biggest club in Germany, so it really means a lot to me to continue playing for this club in the future. For me personally, it was very important to make the move to Munich and FC Bayern in 2023. In my first year, I was able to adapt well and get to know professional football, and this season I’m getting more and more playing time. Of course, I want to build on that,” said Şehitler.
