Aston Villa has one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals as it prepares to host Club Brugge in the second leg of its last-16 tie later today.
Having won 3-1 in Belgium last week, Unai Emery’s side is well on the way to the last-eight, where it would face Liverpool’s conqueror PSG after the French champion got the better of Arne Slot’s side in a penalty shootout. Before it can start thinking about a possible quarter-final though, Villa needs to finish the job in hand.
Club Brugge will be a big underdog in this evening’s game, although it has already sprung one huge surprise in the competition after knocking out Atalanta, and will be eyeing up another at Villa Park.

Early team news
Emery has confirmed a triple boost for Villa ahead of today’s game, with Emi Martinez, Amadou Onana and Marco Asensio all available to play a part against Club Brugge.
Martinez was rested against Brentford at the weekend following his recent muscle injury, but should make his return in goal as Villa looks to finish the job off at home.
Asensio has been suffering from fatigue as a result of his lack of game time at PSG before making the move on loan to Villa, while Onana has been missing since January with a hamstring injury. The latter is unlikely to start, but a place back on the bench is not out of the question.
