UK national media demands ‘personnel change’
The UK’s media has given its verdict after Liverpool’s defeat to PSG, with changes to Arne Slot’s squad being called for.
The Reds are of course still on course to win the Premier League title, and can claim a first piece of silverware under their new head coach in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, but yesterday’s heartbreaking penalty shootout showed why there is plenty of work to do in the summer.
“For a team who are 15 points clear at the summit of the Premier League, Liverpool has only won nine of 46 games in all competitions by a greater margin of two goals. A change in personnel, who can add a ruthless edge, is likely to be needed,” wrote Paul Joyce in The Times.
