Heading into the summer of 2025, one of Arsenal’s major priorities should be to keep hold of their key players.

Naturally, frustration will be palpable within the Emirates Stadium and especially amongst the players if another season passes them by with no trophies to show for.

While patience should be of the essence at Arsenal as they are still building a winning culture, players might be tempted to look elsewhere for a number of reasons unless they win the Champions League this season.

Even if Mikel Arteta is considered the right fit to lead the Gunners to success, perhaps some of the names within the dressing room could either question that or simply be enticed by pastures new.

The North Londoners seem keen not to lose some of their best players anytime soon, with Bukayo Saka’s contract renewal prioritised by Arsenal alongside other big names like William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Myles Lewis-Skelly looks set to sign a new deal at his boyhood club as well.

Leandro Trossard open to Saudi Pro League move despite Arsenal contract offer

Mikel Arteta will be hoping that Saka, Saliba, Gabriel and Lewis-Skelly all pen new contracts as soon as possible.

However, apart from the aforementioned quartet, Arsenal may well have offered brand-new deals to other players behind the scenes.

One of them is Leandro Trossard, who signed for the Gunners in January 2023.

However, Voetbal Krant have revealed that despite Arsenal’s contract offer to Trossard, no agreement has been reached between both parties who have sat down and undergone negotations.

The Belgian is open to a move to the Saudi Pro League and considering the handsome financial proposal he could receive, it will be difficult for the North Londoners to persuade the versatile forward to extend his contract.

Trossard, who Bukayo Saka called “really smart” is 30 and the former Brighton attacker does not have many years left in his career. As a result, whether the Maasmechelen-born finisher’s priority is to try helping Arsenal win major silverware or enjoy the financial benefits that could come with playing in Saudi Arabia will determine his next career choice.

What Arsenal have planned about Leandro Trossard’s future

Trossard has had a stellar career in the Premier League for both Brighton and Arsenal but he does not have the silverware to show for it.

Trossard played while being unwell against Ipswich Town, which does indicate that he is committed to the cause in N5.

Arsenal will be aware of that being the case as the aforementioned report mentions that they are ready to hold fresh contract talks with the £27 million (Sky Sports) man in the coming weeks. But with Trossard registering just six goals and four assists in total this season, perhaps he might be more replaceable than one might reckon.
