There have been reports of the former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino returning back from Saudi club Al-Ahli to the English Premier League. A number of clubs have been earlier interested in his signing. However, now Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola has reported that there will be no obstacle in the path of Arsenal to get Firmino. The Gunners have been interested in the Brazilian striker in the recent few days.

Arsenal want to sign Roberto Firmino:

Arsenal have been looking for a striker in the last few transfer windows. Gabriel Jesus has not performed consistently for the club and the team has been heavily dependent on Bukayo Saka. So, Mikel Arteta is looking for a natural number nine and they have been linked to high-profile names like Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres.

Flamengo was earlier linked with a move for Firmino but now they are not interested in him. So, basically, Arsenal are the only club that are interested in the Brazilian striker. Although the striker is 33 years old, he still has the qualities to do the job for the Gunners. Roberto Firmino shines as a forward with a unique flair and relentless energy. He excels at dropping deep, linking play with sharp passes, and creating space for teammates. Additionally, his vision transforms attacks, often threading balls to wingers with precision.

His qualities:

Firmino presses defenders tirelessly, disrupting their rhythm and winning possession in dangerous areas. Meanwhile, his clever movement off the ball confounds markers, opening gaps for others to exploit. Though not a traditional goal-scoring machine, he finishes chances with finesse when they arise. For years, his selfless style and technical brilliance anchored Liverpool’s attack, giving creativity, work rate, and flair.

Roberto Firmino has scored 5 goals in 17 matches so far in the Professional League 2024/2025 season. Overall, Firmino’s goals scored per 90 minutes are 0.37. Moreover, his total G/A (goals + assists) is 8 for this season.

The striker is way past his prime but can do the job on a rotational basis for Arsenal. However, if they do go for him, they also need to sign a world-class striker with him who can score goals on a consistent basis in the Premier League and also the Champions League.
