Arsenal have a number of excellent players in their squad.

Mikel Arteta has built a fantastic side over the years, and although they still need a new striker, people can’t deny that they are one of the best teams in Europe.

Arsenal have top-class players in almost every position in their squad, and when everybody is fit and available, they are a force to be reckoned with.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Ledley King has now had his say on one Arsenal player who hasn’t even played this year.

Ledley King says Bukayo Saka will ‘overtake’ David Beckham one day

David Beckham was a superstar during his playing days.

The Manchester United icon had a glorious right foot, and his set-pieces set a standard that very few people have come close to matching.

Beckham enjoyed a stellar career at the top level, playing for a number of iconic clubs. He is a legend of the game, but King feels his legacy will be surpassed by Bukayo Saka.

The Arsenal winger is one of the best players in the Premier League and he had a stunning start to the season. After 24 games, he had nine goals and 13 assists in all competitions.

Sadly, Saka suffered an injury and hasn’t played a game for Arsenal since Christmas. However, everyone in the game is convinced that he is going to be a superstar.

King, who is Tottenham through and through, was asked to choose between Beckham and Saka in a video on Goal’s social channels.

The Spurs icon picked Beckham, but he claimed that Saka will become better than the Manchester United great one day.

He said: “At the moment, I’ll go with Beckham. But Saka will eventually overtake him, yeah!”

Bukayo Saka vs David Beckham’s stats in England compared

Beckham played for iconic clubs like Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, but he first made a big name for himself at Manchester United.

Saka, on the other hand, has only been at Arsenal, and fans of the Emirates Stadium club are all hoping that will remain the case forever.

So, how do Saka’s stats compare against Beckham’s? Let’s have a look.

Games Goals Assists Minutes per goal or assist
Bukayo Saka at Arsenal 250 67 63 147.9
David Beckham at Manchester United 394 85 121 156.04
(Correct as of March 13, 2025)

Beckham is ahead on goals and assists at the moment, but Saka will almost certainly surpass his numbers at Arsenal in the coming years.

However, what the Arsenal man will also have to do to cement his legacy is win trophies.

Beckham won six Premier League titles and a Champions League among other trophies during his time at Manchester United.

It remains to be seen if Saka can get anywhere near that in the coming years.
