Joshua Kimmich will be with Bayern Munich through the 2028/29 season…

After a lot of speculation about an exit, Joshua Kimmich opted to ink a contract extension with Bayern Munich.

This move should keep the Germany international cemented as one of the team leaders and a key part of the Bayern Munich central midfield through the 2028/2029 season.

Kimmich gave a rational reason for what drove him to sign Bayern Munich’s proposed contract.

“At FC Bayern, I have the best environment to achieve my sporting goals,” Kimmich said in a release from FCBayern.com. “I made my decision based on that. There is currently no better package of teammates, coaching team and club environment for me to achieve maximum success.I feel at home here and I’m not finished yet.”

Kimmich is expected to be the team’s next captain and is an integral figure within the Bayern Munich locker room. Clearly, this was a beneficial move for both sides.
