Arsenal’s reward for overcoming PSV Eindhoven in their Champions League tie is a date with the competition’s current holders Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.
Mikel Arteta made a host of changes for Arsenal’s second-leg meeting with PSV on the basis of the Gunners already being six goals ahead on aggregate before kick off.
Perhaps Arsenal will be disappointed not to win on the night, but it was still an excellent chance for the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Raheem Sterling to get minutes and build momentum.

Both took their chances well, in fact, Martin Keown thought Sterling was excellent.
And a start for Ben White at right-back could also be invaluable in terms of his readiness to face Real Madrid after the international break.
Thierry Henry explains how Arsenal can beat Real Madrid in the Champions League
Of course, Arsenal will hope to have Bukayo Saka back when Real arrive in north London at the beginning of April, a team that Arteta’s side will have to be at their best to beat.
That being said, Thierry Henry shared whether he thinks Arsenal can actually beat Real when speaking on CBS Sports’ coverage of the Champions League.
Henry scored for Arsenal in a famous 1-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu back in 2006, a result the Gunners would love to repeat next month.
And whilst Henry clearly thought it would be a tough task for Arsenal to beat Real on this occasion, he stated his belief that it is possible.

Henry said: “I do believe that if you go into a game believing you can win it, this is what dreams are made of.
“I’ve seen Greece winning the Euros, I’ve seen Leicester winning the league – no one would have said it.
“Just believe that you can, that’s what I’m saying. Are you going to do it? That’s a different ball game.
“Look at how Atletico played them, they played them more than well so many times and it still wasn’t enough.
“I’ve seen City playing Real Madrid so well, and it still wasn’t enough, so if you go there without the belief that you can win – stay at home.
“I do believe it, that’s what I’m saying – do they?”
Arsenal head-to-head record against Real Madrid
Surprisingly, Arsenal haven’t actually faced Real since the 2006 tie between the two sides.
Arsenal faced a Real side that contained the likes of Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham and Roberto Carlos over the two ties.
Arsenal won 1-0 away in Spain in the first-leg thanks to a superb solo-goal by Henry, one that will always have its place in the club’s history books.
And in the corresponding second-leg, Arsene Wenger’s team were able to hold Real to a 0-0 draw at Highbury – a momentous result for a side that was beginning to lose its star players.
Of course, the Gunners will now face Real without a proper number nine.
Andrea Berta wants to buy a striker at Arsenal in the summer, but for now Arteta’s team will need to make the most of Mikel Merino against a team he will have often faced in the past.
