David Moyes has joined Premier League royalty after being named as the Manager of the Month for February.

Moyes made an emotional return to Everton in January having left the club in 2013 to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

The Scot came back to Goodison Park to replace Sean Dyche in the dugout and has since steered them clear of the relegation zone.

Everton are 16 points clear of the Premier League bottom three and just one behind Tottenham and United.

Moyes hasn’t lost in the league since a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on his first match back and his form has been rewarded as a result.

The 61-year-old is the Manager of the Month for February, beating fellow nominees including Arne Slot and Ange Postecoglou.

It’s the first time Moyes has won the award in 12 years, with his last triumph also coming at Everton in March 2013.

February’s title is also his 11th ever in the Premier League and sees him go level with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

“It’s been great being back in the building here,” Moyes told Everton.

“Everybody’s made me feel really welcome and obviously winning enough games to be awarded the Manager of the Month has been huge for us.

“For me to join a club and, near enough in my first month, get Manager of the Month is more to do with the commitment of the players, their attitude and the way they’ve worked.

“They’ve been fabulous, the players. I’m really thrilled because the names of the people who are up there are unbelievable coaches and managers.

“I think from my point of view, having the longevity and probably being in the Premier League for a long time, has given me probably more chances to win it.

“But to try to win it with the level of competition that there is in the Premier League – there are so many good coaches; there are so many good new young coaches on the field now that it’s a big challenge.”

Moyes first won the Premier League Manager of the Month award in November 2002 just months after joining Everton.

He won in September 2004, January 2006, February 2008, February 2009, January, March and October 2010, and September 2012 too.

Moyes has won four of his ten matches in all competitions since his return to Everton alongside four draws and just two defeats.

The Toffees will host his former club West Ham on Saturday, where a win would take them closer to Premier League survival.
