Possible title-decider in the Frauen Bundesliga
It’s Bayern time.
The FC Bayern Frauen take on VfL Wolfsburg in a Frauen-Bundesliga tilt that could decide the season.
Bayern Munich is three points atop the league but Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt are tied one points at second. A Wolfsburg victory would send the title race into a frenetic finish. A Bayern win? Could seal the deal.
Sarah Zadrazil starts in midfield and Alara Șehitler, fresh off her extension, gets a start on the wings. It is a strong Bayern XI if not a 100% healthy one. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, are led by Alexandra Popp at the top as usual. It has been an up and down season but this is it: they have to give everything to stand a chance.

30’ — Wolfsburg chances! Jule Brand is on the end of not one but two chances for the She-Wolves. Just when they needed some signs of life, the German international has provided the spark — a tight-angle shot through a crowd brilliantly denied and a dangerous ball floating towards the danger area that somehow falls to nothing. Bayern keeper Ena Mahmutovic is up to the task so far.
13’ — GOAL! Bayern strike first and it’s a deadly punch. Carolin Simon floats a cross in from deep; Klara Bühl attempts to flick on from right in front of goal. Whether she got a touch or not, it lands at the feet of Pernille Harder, the former Wolfsburg player, who has ghosted herself into an open position at the back post for an emphatic tap-in. 1-0 to Bayern early.
