Manchester City‘s top scorer Erling Haaland will be looking to add to his tally when the Citizens welcome fellow top-four hopefuls Brighton & Hove Albion to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Norwegian has scored 20 Premier League goals in 27 games so far this season, although he was unable to make the net ripple in City’s narrow 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest last weekend.
Haaland will be hoping to fire Pep Guardiola‘s side to victory this weekend against an in-form Brighton outfit who he has enjoyed facing in recent years.

Since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022, Erling Haaland has faced Brighton & Hove Albion competitively four times, all in the Premier League, and has helped the Citizens come out on top on two occasions.
Haaland enjoyed his first top-flight encounter with the Seagulls in October 2022 as he scored a first-half brace in a 3-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.
His first goal was assisted by a sensational pump forward from goalkeeper Ederson, before barging Adam Webster and easily rounding the oncoming Robert Sanchez to then roll the ball into an empty net, while his second was smashed into the net from the penalty spot.
Haaland was unable to score during 90 minutes in the reverse fixture seven months later, as Man City were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton, although he did assist Phil Foden‘s opener that was soon cancelled out by the 2022-23 Premier League Goal of the Season fired in by Julio Enciso.
The following campaign, Haaland missed City’s comfortable 4-0 away win over Brighton through injury, but he was on target in a 2-1 home victory in October 2023, driving at the Seagulls’ defence before powering a left-footed shot from the edge of the area into the bottom corner.
Haaland’s most recent encounter against Brighton came in November 2024 when he poked home a finish in off the crossbar in a 2-1 Premier League away defeat for the Citizens – his 75th Premier League goal for the Citizens.
Haaland has therefore directly contributed to at least one goal (either scoring or assisting) in all four of his Premier League appearances against the Seagulls.
