Ange Postecoglou’s job at Tottenham is far from safe.

Indeed, Ange Postecoglou is under pressure at the moment.

Tottenham’s game against AZ Alkmaar this week was make or break, and while Postecoglou managed to get past that test, results still haven’t been good enough lately.

Spurs sit 13th in the Premier League, and that is simply unacceptable.

Jamie O’Hara called for Harry Redknapp to return to Tottenham recently, and speaking on TalkSPORT, Redknapp has been discussing the idea of returning to Tottenham.

The 78-year-old conceded that it’s not going to happen, but he did say that he’d be up for the challenge of taking Spurs on until the end of the season.

Harry Redknapp would take the Tottenham job

Redknapp responded when asked if he’d take the Tottenham job until the end of the season.

The FA Cup winning manager says he’d be up for the job, claiming that he does miss the buzz of management.

However, he jokingly noted that he’d have to start next week as he’s currently enjoying the Cheltenham Festival.

“If it was up for grabs until the end of the season would you go back?” Redknapp was asked.

“Listen, it ain’t going to happen, is it? But of course you would. You miss it, you love it really, there’s nothing like it,” Redknapp said.

“The buzz of it all, I can’t go during Cheltenham week. If Daniel rung me and said can you come in, I’d say I can’t, it’s Cheltenham week, I’d have to start next week.”

Harry Redknapp compared to Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham

Redknapp has had plenty to say about Postecoglou’s management of Spurs recently, and, it has to be said that Redknapp is qualified to make these assessments.

Indeed, while Redknapp wasn’t necessarily the greatest Tottenham manager in history, he did a much better job in north London than Postecoglou is doing, and the stats show it.

Of course, at the age of 78, Redknapp is past his best, hence why he’s not had a senior job since leaving Birmingham City in 2017.

However, we’ve seen veteran managers work wonders before. Neil Warnock has saved numerous clubs in recent years, Roy Hodgson did a good job at Crystal Palace when he came back to Selhurst Park, while Claudio Ranieri is currently doing a good job at Roma.

Redknapp would be open to a return to Tottenham, and while it’s very unlikely, stranger things have indeed happened in football.
